Sharona Hoffman

Sharona Hoffman is a Distinguished University Professor at Case Western Reserve University. She is also the Edgar A. Hahn Professor of Law, Professor of Bioethics, and Co-Director of the Law-Medicine Center. Professor Hoffman received her BA from Wellesley College, her JD from Harvard Law School, an LLM in health law from the University of Houston, and an SJD in health law from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She has written over eighty law review articles and book chapters on health law and civil rights topics, along with dozens of shorter pieces. Professor. Hoffman is also the author of two books: Aging with a Plan: How a Little Thought Today Can Vastly Improve Your Tomorrow, Second Edition (First Hill Books 2022) and Electronic Health Records and Medical Big Data: Law and Policy (Cambridge University Press 2016). Dr. Hoffman has lectured throughout the United States and internationally and has been widely quoted in the press.  She is an elected member of the American Law Institute.
