Phoebe Jean-Pierre

Phoebe Jean-Pierre is an Assistant Professor in the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. Her research lies at the intersection of health and law and explores issues involving vulnerable communities and persisting disparities. She is interested in risk/crisis communication, doctor-patient confidentiality, health disparities and immigrant health, privacy and protected health information, social media and health, and ethical and legal issues in health communication. Currently, her research focuses on the health, inequality, and the disparate experiences across patient populations. She holds a PhD from Northwestern University in Media, Technology, and Society (with a focus on Health Communication), a JD from the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania in Communication and World History. Before coming to Kelley, she taught at the University of Iowa College of Law. She also has lectured in the Northwestern School of Communication in the Master of Science in Leadership for Creative Enterprises, the Master of Science and Health Communication, and in the undergraduate communication program.
