Federal health agencies, policy, and structure have been disrupted under the current Trump Administration. The Administration has not only taken steps to implement its priorities, but has reduced agency staff, placed greater control over scientific decisions to political appointees, canceled funding for on-going research and public health programs, and pulled back from scientifically-based recommendations.
This plenary will involve a moderated conversation among invited panelists who are working now to mitigate federal policies that negatively impact health, education, and equity and planning for future efforts to reverse the damage. The panelists will discuss ways they continue to make a positive impact through their work and institutional commitments in this new environment and prepare for the next administration.
