Jaspreet Chowdhary

Compassion & Choices

Jaspreet Chowdhary has dedicated her career to helping transform systems to be more equitable and empower people to make decisions about their own lives. Currently, Jaspreet is the Senior Legislative Counsel at Compassion and Choices where she helps draft, authorize, and implement medical aid in dying policies across the country. In her current role, she prepares external policy documents for legislators and partner organizations, creates and deepens relationships with stakeholders. She also assists with end of life care and access efforts across the country. Jaspreet is also a board member of First Shift Justice Project, an organization committed to supporting caregivers in the workplace. Previously, Jaspreet was the Ballot Integrity Program Manager at the Ballot Initiative Strategy Center. Her work included legislative tracking and analysis as well as running the BISC Lawyers Guild. Throughout her professional career, whether it was working with women living with HIV at the 30 for 30 Campaign or striving for the equitable implementation of the ACA at Community Catalyst, Jaspreet has amplified the voices of those most impacted while advocating for systemic change. She was part of the inaugural class of the If/When/How Reproductive Justice Fellowship program and was placed with the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum. She has conducted public health research at Duke University and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Jaspreet received a B.A. in English and Women’s Studies from Goucher College, an M.P.H. with a concentration in Epidemiology from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and a J.D. from Seattle University School of Law. She is licensed to practice law by the State Bar of Maryland.
