Joan Foley

Professor Joan Foley teaches Health Law, Legal and Ethics Issues in Medical Malpractice, Aging: Health, Law and Policy, American Trial Courts – Federal, and Legal Process at Touro University Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center. She also serves as Adjunct Professor of Medicine at New York Medical College School of Medicine.

Professor Foley received her JD from New York University School of Law. She was a partner at Gordon Thomas Honeywell LLP in Seattle, Washington, where her practice focused on health law, complex litigation, appellate litigation, and environmental litigation. She then served on the faculty at University of Washington School of Law before joining Touro Law.

Professor Foley has held numerous leadership roles in professional and nonprofit organizations. She is an Executive Committee Member and past Chair of the Association of American Law Schools Aging and the Law Section, a Board Member of the Federal Bar Association Eastern District of New York Chapter, and a Steering Committee Member of the Laurel Rubin Farm Worker Justice Project.
