Jonathan Todres is a Distinguished University Professor and the Catherine C. Henson Professor of Law at Georgia State University College of Law. He is a leading expert on children’s rights. His research focuses on the implementation of children’s rights law, the intersections between children’s rights and child and adolescent development, and youth participation. His recent books include: Children’s Rights and Child Development: An Integrated Approach (NYU Press, 2025) (coedited with Ursula Kilkelly); The Oxford Handbook of Children’s Rights Law (Oxford University Press, 2020) (co-edited with Shani King); Preventing Child Trafficking: A Public Health Approach (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2019) (with Angela Diaz); and Human Rights in Children’s Literature: Imagination and the Narrative of Law (Oxford University Press, 2016) (with Sarah Higinbotham). He is also a co-editor of the Children and the Law: Doctrine, Policy, and Practice textbook (8th edition, 2024). He currently serves as Chair of the Board on Children, Youth, and Families of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.
