Katie Gudiksen

Katherine L. Gudiksen, PhD, MS, is a healthcare competition policy researcher and Principal Investigator of The Source on Healthcare Price and Competition at the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco. Her scholarship examines healthcare antitrust doctrine and its application to contemporary market dynamics, including cross-market hospital mergers, sub-threshold consolidation, anticompetitive contracting, and state-level tools such as merger review, certificate of need programs, and non-compete restrictions. Her research appears in peer-reviewed health policy and law journals, and she has produced policy guidance and model legislation used by state legislators, attorneys general, and employer purchasers. She holds a PhD in chemistry from Harvard University, with early-career experience in industry diagnostics, and an MS in health policy and law jointly conferred by UCSF and UC Law SF.
