Massoud H. Agahi

Massoud Agahi, M.D., M.P.H. is a Public Health Program adjunct faculty member at California State University, Northridge, College of Health and Human Development, where he teaches and supervises undergraduate and graduate students’ internship research.  Dr. Agahi is certified by the American Board of Surgery in Vascular Surgery and has a clinical practice based in Los Angeles.  He is the principal investigator at Avicenna Next, a healthcare consulting, research, and development group he founded which has been engaged in projects funded by the CDC, California Department of Education, and California Health Care Foundation, etc., focusing on building workforce capacity and sustainability of Community Health Workers (CHWs) to promote health equity through curriculum development and training on community-centered health systems and policies.  Dr. Agahi was a founding member of the California CHW Community of Practice which later formed the California Association of CHWs.  He received his M.D. from Temple University School of Medicine and completed residency training in General Surgery at Temple University Hospital, followed by subspecialty fellowships in Endovascular and Vascular Surgery at Stanford University and Harbor-UCLA Medical Centers, respectively.  He received his M.P.H. from the Executive Program of the Health Policy and Management Department at UCLA School of Public Health.
