New England Law | Boston

Rachel Beth Cohen is a Faculty Fellow at New England Law | Boston. Her scholarship examines how the law structures clinical encounters, where patients seek care under conditions of dependency, unequal information, and limited visibility into the purposes the encounter may also serve. Her work focuses on encounters that provide care while also training future physicians, generating institutional data, supporting commercial AI development, or producing institutional knowledge outside patients’ awareness or expectations. Her recent work includes a Maine Law Review article on unconsented educational pelvic exams, and her current projects examine clinical training in academic medical centers and patient data captured in clinical encounters and routed toward commercial use.
