Richard Weinmeyer

Richard (“Rick”) Weinmeyer is currently a Jaharis Faculty Fellow in Health Law and Intellectual Property at DePaul University’s College of Law where he teaches Public Health Law, Bioethics and the Law, and Food and Drug Law. Starting July 1, 2024, he will become an Assistant Professor of Law at Loyola University Chicago School of Law and become a member of the Beazley Institute for Health Law and Policy. At Loyola, he will teach Torts and Public Health Law, as well as a variety of seminars on legal epidemiology, empirical methods, and constitutional rights in public health. He researches questions in the areas of public health law, health policy and bioethics, and he applies mixed methods to empirical questions in health law.

Dr. Weinmeyer received his Ph.D. in Social Sciences and Health from Northwestern University in 2023, where he wrote his dissertation on the public toilet crisis in the United States and the legal and policy tools to help address this problem. In 2015 and 2013, he received his M.A. in Bioethics and his J.D. (with a concentration in Health and Bioethics) from the University of Minnesota.
